Corrosion
Engineer SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES . Lead failure investigations into material and corrosion issues in accordance with prescribed or approved failure investigation procedures. . Evaluate laboratory and field coupons for corrosion mode . Conducts microscopic and macroscopic studies of nanocomposites, cermets, powder metals and alloys to determine their physical characteristics, properties, and reactions to processing techniques . Suggest engineering and materials solutions to corrosion issues . Implement and deliver assigned asset corrosion engineering work including control strategies, participate in and effectively report upon those activities and practices . Undertake proactive, careful and regular interpretation of corrosion/inspection monitoring data and develop or implement consequential changes in corrosion monitoring programs . Participate in and provide input to the regular review of corrosion management information such as Corrosion Control Matrices, Key Performance Indicators or other asset specific requirements . Interprets findings and prepares drawings, charts, and graphs for reference or instructional purposes . Develop empirical and computational models to improve the understanding of corrosion . Writes reports referencing findings, conclusions, and recommendations . Directs laboratory personnel in preparing samples, conducting corrosion assessments and evaluating corrosion test samples . Assist the Quality department in defining, the Quality Systems critical to ISO, NADCAP, ASTM, and API standards and requirements . Hands-on corrosion evaluation experience POSITION REQUIREMENTS . Bachelors/Masters degree in Metallurgical or Corrosion engineering . Strong experience working in metallurgical application with specific focus on corrosion . Practical experience overseeing corrosion testing and analysis . Practical experience with material characterization techniques . Strong grasp of fundamental scientific and engineering principles . Good laboratory work habits and organizational skills .
