ANSTO is the national organisation for nuclear science and technology. We focus on undertaking leading edge research, delivering innovative scientific services and providing specialised advice to government, industry academia and other research organisations.

The Institute of Materials Engineering is a major centre of materials expertise in Australia with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. The Institute plays a significant role in maintaining Australia's international profile in the field of nuclear science and technology. The Institute&rsquos core mission is to: Develop, manufacture, characterise, model and ultimately, utilise Materials in support of the Advanced Nuclear Fuel Cycle and next generation Nuclear Power generation systems.

We are currently seeking 3 leading Senior Material Scientists/Engineers to join our Materials Engineering facility based in Southern Sydney, Australia to lead the world class research programs that enable the Institute to achieve its core mission

If you are a self-driven individual, with strong technical/research leadership skills looking for stimulating new challenges then this role may be for you.

As the ideal candidate you will have made a sustained international contribution to the field of structure/property relationships in materials combined with either experience or a willingness to to undertake research on nuclear materials.

To be successful in this role a demonstrated ability to plan, organize and lead research programmes on both a national and international level is a must.

Your strong ability to communicate, including listening, providing constructive feedback and mentoring will complement your ability to build and maintain productive working relationships at national and international levels as well as within ANSTO.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants will require a security and medical assessment and Australian citizens are preferred.
