The Opportunity

OSIsoft is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with industry experience in metals, materials and mining who can use their talents and industry knowledge to support the execution of the OSIsoft Business Plan. The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree, industry experience, and a strong business background enabling them to develop and execute a business development strategy.

Job Description

This position will report to the Director of Business Development and support the execution of the OSIsoft Business Plan. 

Business Development Strategy

  • Develop, maintain, communicate and execute the OSIsoft’s selected industry strategy
  • Lead efforts to enhance the sales potential for existing market opportunities
  • Lead efforts to create new market opportunities

Customer Relations

  • Provide domain support for meetings and proposals
  • Conference event leadership (attend, present, manage/organize/coordinate show presence, etc.)
  • Manage User Group website and Yahoo Group
  • Develop a SIG when appropriate

Partner Relations

  • Maintain strong business relationships with key existing partners and collaborators
  • Identify and cultivate new opportunities with the existing partners and collaborators
  • Evaluate and cultivate new partners (SI, Consultant, VAR and ISV) that can help us strategically build and deliver whole product solutions

Marketing

  • Identify, evaluate and communicate market opportunities
  • Drive the content for marketing collateral (brochures, white papers, PowerPoint’s, success stories, business cases, press releases, etc.)
  • Help formulate and communicate key messages to a variety of target audiences (collaborators, partners, industry analysts, government agencies, etc.)
  • Communicate specific product needs to the product marketing team and software development team

Internal Organization Collaboration

  • Ensure sales team understands all of the market opportunities, specific requirements, issues, appropriate partners (training, webinars, one-on-one meetings, etc.)

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must have a four year university degree; engineering degree highly desirable
  • Business Development, technical or direct sales role in selected industry (metals, materials & mining)
  • Demonstrated list of industry contacts
  • Must be available for travel which is estimated at 40% (includes global travel)
  • Must have proficiency at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle to consistently meet multiple short deadlines
  • Must be self motivated though work well within a team environment
